The Orthophysical app offers a robust solution for measuring and monitoring knee range of motion. Notably, it includes features for tracking pain levels and patient satisfaction through a straightforward functional testing system. Additionally, the Wound Inspection feature allows medical professionals to monitor the healing process of surgical wounds.

Knee range of motion can be assessed using two distinct methods: an image capture system or a gyroscope-based approach. Measurements obtained can be stored and displayed in both graphical and list formats for easy reference.

The gyroscope method provides a user-friendly means to measure knee range of motion, utilizing the mobile device as a goniometer. This technique involves positioning the device along the thigh and shin while activating the measurement feature.

In contrast, the image capture system employs virtual markers placed on key anatomical points to evaluate knee motion. An innovative option within this mode allows the app to automatically detect physical circular markers affixed to the patient, streamlining the process of selecting virtual markers.

The Wound Inspection feature facilitates the capture, labeling, and archiving of images of surgical wounds. Users can easily access these images later based on their date of capture.

Further enhancing its utility, the app enables users to quantify pain and satisfaction through its Functional Test Feature. A five-point scale assesses patient satisfaction while an 11-point visual analogue scale records pain levels ranging from 0 to 10. Results are readily saved and can be revisited in either graphical or list formats.

This application is particularly beneficial for orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and other healthcare practitioners involved in monitoring knee range of motion.
